These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Lockstep Security ("Lockstep," "we," "us," or "our"), including our website, web application, browser extension, and mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Lockstep Security is a zero-knowledge password management service. It allows users to securely store, organize, and access encrypted credentials across web, browser extension, and mobile platforms. All vault data is encrypted client-side using AES-256-GCM before being transmitted to our servers. Your master password never leaves your device. Lockstep is available in free and premium tiers, with premium features including multi-device sync, increased vault limits, and web vault access.
By creating an account or using the Service, you affirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your master password. Lockstep Security uses a zero-knowledge architecture — we cannot recover your master password or decrypt your vault data if you lose access to your master password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Lockstep Security offers free and premium subscription tiers. Premium subscriptions unlock convenience features such as multi-device access, increased entry limits, and web vault access.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which details what data we collect, how it is used, and confirms that your information is not shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes.
All content, branding, and software comprising the Service are the intellectual property of Lockstep Security. You retain ownership of all data you store in your vault. We claim no ownership of or access to your encrypted vault contents.
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.
Lockstep Security is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss, unauthorized access resulting from compromised master passwords, service interruptions, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lockstep Security and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or are involved in fraud. You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings or our Account Deletion page. Upon deletion, all associated data is permanently destroyed.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
